Why Neil Patel?

Why Neil Patel?

Only in the last few months have I become aware of Neil Patel , http://neilpatel.com and his teachings to help boost ones online presence. I can tell you that having been in the business since 1995 both for a number of companies and on my own, that his teachings are totally valid and very valuable. Some of what he teaches I knew already, though a lot I did not. In many ways for me, he’s helped fill in some gaps. Something I’ve immediately learned is consistency, one of my biggest challenges. At times when I’ve had projects that needed to be completed, I’d lose my consistency.

One of the other important things, I knew, though wasn’t sure how important it is, building your email list. One of the ways of doing that is to offer something for free to get an email list. I had offered discounts, though giving something away is much more powerful. Building an email list is about THE most important thinks to do. In everything you do, you must learn about doing whatever you need to make your content as viral as you can. In asking for email addresses, page content, blog content etc. Viral can be in wording, images, video and more. In his teachings he provides more info on that. The point is the more viral you can be, the faster you can grow. What is “Viral”? That content that is shared… a lot! The more heavily it is shared, the better your results.

Neil provides a number of tools (websites) to use to help make your Internet marketing more powerful. Most are free. Though I’d been using Google for my clients websites. There are tools there I didn’t even realize were there.

You absolutely owe it to yourself and your business to get plugged into as much as you can with Neil.

SEO for your Godaddy, Wix or Weebly Website

SEO for your Godaddy, Wix or Weebly Website

SEO aka Search Engine Optimization is a number of techniques used to get your site ranked on Google. The desire for everyone is to get ranked on the first page of Google. Some say it takes months or weeks, though there is a method to help move it along faster. A shortcut if you will. This is good for any website, not only with the platforms of GoDaddy  (using their Website Builder), Wix or Weebly. These are mentioned first because they are the most notorious for not being able to get indexed.
This shortcut is implemented using YouTube Live. YouTube Live is a method where a video is created (can be a very simple video), then streamed on YouTube. The advantage of this method is that the video comes up immediately, in a few minutes or can take a little longer, though usually within 24 hours, on the First Page of Google using keywords most appropriate or popular for what your business offers.

Is My WordPress Website Safe?

Is My WordPress Website Safe?

It came to my attention recently from an insider at a hosting company that many webmasters do not keep their clients websites plugins or WordPress updated.

Is-Your-Wordpress-Site-Safe-With this practice they also are not good about keeping their clients secure from hacking and they’re clients sites get hacked a lot.

Recently, I too have com across new clients who for whatever reason DO NOT feel it is necessary to back-up, protect an otherwise protect all their hard work and time invested to make sure it’s doesn’t all go POOF at some time just because others who have worked on their website ever said anything. I’ve even sent articles to point out the importance of both of these issues and as intelligent as they are, for soe reason, refuse to do this.

I recommend to all you business owners, as one of the few web designers, SEO and WordPress website specialists who has been in the Internet industry since 1995, make sure you have admin access to your WordPress website(s). Not that you should touch anything though once you login you’ll be able to see if WordPress has any updates waiting or any plugins have not been updated.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Accept Credit Cards by Phone – PayPal Here vs Square

Accept Credit Cards by Phone – PayPal Here vs Square

paypal here vs squareThough many small businesses are now using apps to accept credit card payments on their phone. Many also are not utilizing the convenience of accepting credit cards on your smart Phone – PayPal Here vs Square. The best info we’ve experienced of the most popular smartphone card reader systems, PayPal and Square. I will say that for myself I’ve only used PayPal and have been very happy with it. I can swipe a card or enter it manually on my phone. Most of the time I’ve entered manually when a client would provide their CC #, exp, secret code and billing zip. Pretty straight forward and the money straight to my PayPal account which they also supply debit card with so when the money’s in, it’s immediately available on the card.

Stacy Sossner of www.facebook.com/StacySossnerOrganics who uses both Square and PayPal has found overall, PayPal to be the better option and here is why:

Square:
Money is in your bank account by next business day, meaning transactions on Friday or Saturday, are not in your bank account and available til the following Monday, except holidays when available after the holiday and/or weekend.

PayPal Here:
Money available immediately on your PayPal debit card included with card reader dongle.

Square:
Customer service is available via email and more recently by phone.
855-700-6000, Monday through Friday 6am to 6pm Pacific Time.

PayPal Here:
Customer service available by phone 1-402-935-2050 or email. Though my experience has been that by phone is the best approach. I personally am a  big fan of doing customer service or tech support via online chat. PayPal does not have that however. They do have a “Virtual chat” which I have to say is really not very helpful. Their customer service hours are:
4:00 AM PST to 10:00 PM Pacific Time Monday through Friday
6:00 AM PST to 8:00 PM Pacific Time Saturday and Sunday

Square:
When swiping a card, often has to be done a few times before it takes. or you end up entering it manually for a slightly high transaction fee.

PayPal Here:
Swiping the card is fast and easy for quick transaction completion.

Though we find PayPal a better solution, many may prefer the option of the money going straight to their checking account and customer service not needed enough for emailing to be an issue.

Because these items were important to us, felt it good to share since many have yet to utilize either of these two great systems that allow you to process credit cards on your phone.

Of course in addition to using PayPal for accepting credit cards on your phone, you can also implement payment for products, services and events on your website and phone as well.

There are other companies like Intuit offering a similar service though reviews read on those looked less satisfactory than PayPal or Square.
